Days of Service
The Trust organizes hands-on group volunteer opportunities with the National Park Service to help beautify the National Mall, particularly in advance of critical visitor months.
Each year, volunteers mulch, weed, clean way-finding signs and paint posts and chains around the war memorials in anticipation of an influx of visitors on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. Teams also plant flowers in the fall and pick up trash during the busy summer months.
We’ve hosted corporate teams, school classes – even soccer players from DC United. Days of Service are part of the Trust’s commitment to building a sense of stewardship of this iconic park among Americans from all walks of life.
